Hi Everyone,

Today, we started off with reading and then had our spelling test. I will be posting the marked tests on Fresh Grade later today. If your child did not do so well, please make a plan with them for what they should do for the next spelling test in two weeks in order to be more successful on it and learn from this test.

Then, we did a short Math lesson that was a culmination of our past lessons on addition and subtraction and decoding word problems.

Grade 4 work: pages 74-75 #1-7

Grade 5 work: page 63 #9, 11,  13-14, and page 65 #1

If it was not finished in class, it is homework.  The Math test is on Tuesday, November 3rd for Chapter 2.

After that, we had snack and stayed inside for DPA because it was raining. Then, the groups worked on creating group name tags for their group to gain points on the board for good behaviour and following routines.

Next, Ms. Parke came and did some outside activities because the rain stopped.

After, we did our Daily 5 groups until lunch.

Following lunch, the students used the computers to work on coding programs: they were allowed to work on Hour of Code or Code Combat to practice/learn coding.

At the very end of the day, Ms. Peddie came in and did a lesson on writing descriptive, complete, and complex sentences with the kids to improve their sentence format, detail, and elaboration.

Tomorrow is our Halloween celebration 🙂 Please no weapons and if anyone wants to send in more snacks, please only pre-packaged snacks can be sent if sending for the whole class. You do not need to by any means and thank you again for already sending in candy for the pinatas – I will distribute this candy among the kids 🙂
