Good afternoon families,

Here are some updates for the week and upcoming dates to note.

Picture Day

Picture day is tomorrow morning. Grade 1s and 2s will go for photos right after the Kindergarten classes. Don’t worry families, photos will be taken before students go outside for recess.

Division 12 Class Charter

Our class had a few discussions on how we would like our classroom to sound, feel and look. Together we came up with our class charter – our promise that we will make to each other each day.

 

Words of the week:

It was so great to see how many different ways you practiced spelling and learning your words last week. Have fun practicing your words this week!

Welcoming Conversations

Thank you to all the families who have signed up for a conference time. If you have not yet there are times still available on both evenings. Please see the email that was sent out to families earlier this week to sign up. The conferences will be on Wednesday October 9 (3-5pm) and Thursday October 10 (2-7pm).

As conferences will be a short 10 minutes please be prepared to answer the following questions about your child:

• What are your child’s interests?
• What are your child’s strengths?
• What are your child’s stretches? (things you want them to develop or work on)
• What are two goals you have for your child this school year? (1 academic and 1 social emotional goal)

 

Question for/ about parents:

• Do you have any skills/ hobby or career you’d like to share or teach the class?
• Does your family celebrate any cultural holidays? (if so, we can celebrate and learn about it in the classroom)

Wednesday October 9 (3:15-5pm)  and Thursday October 10 (2:15-7pm) Welcome Conversation afternoon/evening

Thursday October 10- Early Dismissal 2pm

Friday October 11- Scholastic Orders due (Ms. Toor will put the order in by 3pm)

Monday October 14- Thanksgiving (No school for everyone)

Friday October 18- Ms. Toor’s away for her wedding (Ms. Keeling will be in as a TOC)

Friday October 25- Pro-D-Day (No school for students)

Monday October 28- Suncrest Pumpkin Patch

Wednesday October 30- Photo Retakes

Thursday October 31- Halloween/ Halloween Parade 1pm and in class celebration

Friday November 1- Division 12 PJ Day
