Happy Tuesday Division 6! Thanks for everyone that completed the CORE COMPETENCIES STUDENT REFLECTIONS last Friday.  If you need to still complete it, please hand it in and submit it on MS TEAMS by today (if possible).  The CORE COMPETENCIES STUDENT REFLECTIONS need to be completed – it is mandatory.  It is different than the STUDENT THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS that we did the previous week.  Remember, that TOMORROW is our CLASS MEETING from 11:00 to 11:30.  We will be sharing at least one aspect of our culture.  It can be a favourite celebration, favourite food, or a type of art, etc.  Please come prepared.  Here’s today’s schedule:

  • CORE COMPETENCIES STUDENT REFLECTIONS – Please complete this reflection by TODAY. It shouldn’t take you too long, but you do need to reflect about the CORE COMPETENCIES that we have done. This is mandatory and needs to be completed. Upload your reflections onto MS TEAMS. Thanks.
  • PE WITH JOE or JUST DANCE videos – Choose between PE WITH JOE or choosing JUST DANCE videos. If you have some other exercise that you found online, then do that. Try your best to get your 20 minutes of exercise every morning.  Drink plenty of water and take breaks when needed.
  • RAZ KIDS – Continue with some RAZ KIDS today. Do RAZ KIDS for 30 minutes.
  • POETRY – Just in case you don’t know, Ms. Driussi is leaving Suncrest at the end of this year. So, I think it would be really nice if all of you created an acrostic poem using Ms. Driussi.  Let’s hand this acrostic assignment in on WEDNESDAY.  Upload it to MS TEAMS. Thanks.
  • POETRY – If you haven’t completed your POETRY PPT PROJECT, please work on it. Create a PPT based on the poems that you have learned:  acrostic, alliteration creature, cinquain, haiku, and limerick.  For the acrostic poem, you can choose whatever topic you want to write about.  For the alliteration creature poem, you can create a new alliteration creature poem, a brand new alliteration poem, or use the same one that you prepared already.  Read the instructions for the PPT on MS TEAMS.  The due date was last FRIDAY, JUNE 12TH.  Have fun creating it!
  • MATH – Today, work on questions from IXL for 30 minutes. Grade 4s, I want you to work on ESTIMATE SUM AND DIFFERENCES OF DECIMALS. These questions are still using the basic idea of how to add or subtract with decimals.  If you make any mistakes while doing the questions, please read the corrections provided to you by IXL carefully.  Grade 5s, the questions that I want you to do is MULTIPLY MONEY AMOUNTS:  WORD PROBLEMS. Again, if you make any mistakes while doing the questions, please read the corrections provided to you by IXL carefully.
  • MATH – Today, I also want you to spend 25 minutes playing games on COOL MATH 4 KIDS. Try the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division games.
  • SS/CE – if you still have to complete your FAMILY CULTURAL PROJECT, please work on it. The instructions to the assignment have been uploaded to MS TEAMS.  The due date for the FAMILY CULTURAL PROJECT was last FRIDAY, JUNE 12.  This is supposed to be a fun and educational assignment to learn about your own culture.  It is a great time for family discussions and to learn about family history together.  You can call or video chat with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins to gain more knowledge if possible.
  • PRACTICE TYPING with Dance Mat typing or if you found a website that you like, then you can use it. If you have completed Dance Mat, you can redo it for now. Practicing for 20 minutes everyday will help you get better at typing.
  • MUSIC – Please remember to check Fletcher’s blog for updates. Her blog is on the Suncrest website at https://sd41blogs.ca/fletcherp/
  • MS TEAMS – The chat option will be open a little bit later today from 11:30 to 1:30. You can chat with each other if you want. I will be available to talk with you guys if you have any questions with any assignments. Or if you just feel like chatting with me, that’s okay too.  Remember that we have our CLASS MEETING on TOMORROW from 11:00 to 11:30 and we will continue our discussion on culture.  You will be discussing one (or more) aspects of your culture.  It can be about a favourite food, holiday, or celebration.  This is related to our Social Studies/Career Education (SS/CE) assignment.

That’s all for today.  See you guys tomorrow!
