Happy Tuesday Division 6! Remember, that tomorrow is our CLASS MEETING from 11:00 to 11:30.  We will be sharing at least one aspect of our culture.  It can be a favourite celebration, favourite food, or a type of art, etc.  Please come prepared.  Here’s today’s schedule:

  • PE WITH JOE or JUST DANCE videos – Choose between PE WITH JOE or choosing JUST DANCE videos. If you have some other exercise that you found online, then do that. Try your best to get your 20 minutes of exercise every morning.  Drink plenty of water and take breaks when needed.
  • RAZ KIDS – Let’s continue with some RAZ KIDS today guys! Do RAZ KIDS for 30 minutes.
  • POETRY – Continue working on your POETRY PPT ASSIGNMENT. The due date is FRIDAY, JUNE 12TH.   If you need more time, then it’s okay.  If you have any questions, please ask me.
  • MATH – Today, work on questions from IXL for 30 minutes. Grade 4s, I want you to work on CHOOSE DECIMALS WITH A PARTICULAR SUM OR DIFFERENCE and Grade 5s, I want you to work on COMPLETE THE ADDITION OR SUBTRACTION SENTENCE. These questions are still using the basic idea of how to add or subtract with decimals.  If you make any mistakes while doing the questions, please read the corrections provided to you by IXL carefully. I’ve added the following videos from youtube for review

    • SCIENCE – Continue working on your questions for the DESERT BIOMES. All of the answers to the questions will be based on the article that you read.  Remember to use the reading strategies that we’ve learned this term:
      • Preview the headings and subheadings to get an idea of what will be included in the article
      • Look at the key words, so that you know what new words you will be learning before you read the article
      • Review the questions at the end of the article so that you know what questions you need to answer while you read the article
    • SCIENCE – If you have time, you can watch the following videos from Moomoo Math and Science for more background information:
      • DESERT BIOME FACTS (type in your internet browser the following):
      • WHAT IS A DESERT? (type in your internet browser the following):
      • SS/CE – Continue working on your FAMILY CULTURAL PROJECT. Please take your time with this project and work on it a little bit every day if you can. I have given a variety of options to creating this project, but I think a PPT would be easiest to upload onto MS TEAMS.  This is supposed to be a fun and educational assignment to learn about your own culture.  It is a great time for family discussions and to learn about family history together.  You can call or video chat with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins to gain more knowledge if possible.  It is due FRIDAY, JUNE 12th. Take your time with this project; please do not rush through it.  If you have time, watch the following video on CULTURE for more background information:
        • CARTOON FOR KIDS!! WHAT IS CULTURE? SOCIAL STUDIES FOR CHILDREN (copy and paste in your internet browser):
        • CULTURES AROUND THE WORLD (copy and paste in your internet browser):
        • PRACTICE TYPING with Dance Mat typing or if you found a website that you like, then you can use it. If you have completed Dance Mat, you can redo it for now. Practicing for 20 minutes everyday will help you get better at typing.
        • MUSIC – Please remember to check Fletcher’s blog for updates. Her blog is on the Suncrest website at https://sd41blogs.ca/fletcherp/
        • MS TEAMS – The chat option will be open from 10:30 to 1:30. You can chat with each other if you want. I will be available to talk with you guys if you have any questions with any assignments. Or if you just feel like chatting with me, that’s okay too.  Remember that we have our CLASS MEETING on TOMORROW from 11:00 to 11:30 and we will be discussing one (or more) aspect of your culture.  It can be about a favourite food, holiday, or celebration.  This will relate to our upcoming Social Studies/Career Education (SS/CE) assignment.

That’s all for today.  See you guys tomorrow!
