Week 6: November 2nd-5th

Hello my friends,

Welcome to the month of November.

A few things to note this month:

• November 1st – Time Change (Fall back one hour)
• November 2nd – our morning meeting will be held from 9:00-9:40am
• November 9th-13th we will be having Parents as Partners Conferences (Afternoon meetings will be cancelled and I will send out a sign up schedule).  This will be a brief meeting noticing your child’s strengths with online learning and creating some goals together to support their learning.
• November 11th – No School for Remembrance Day
• November 12th – Online classes are cancelled in the morning as teachers have district training.
• we are going to learn through the core competency of “Positive Personal and Cultural Identity”. By getting to know ourselves, including our strengths and stretches, we can better get to know others and our community.
• as Mathematicians we are going to be focusing on some core number sense strategies – these will support us in our global math thinking and support our addition and subtraction.  ** Please see Monday’s Math plan – as you will need to prepare some materials that will become your child’s math tool kit.
• as Writers, we are going to build confidence by making and writing our own books within our own interests

Here is our weekly plan for this week!  You will notice that many of the activities are connected (for example: the Science and Outdoor Learning activities are both connected to the cycles and patterns in the sky).
