Week 21: March 1-5

Dear Families100 days celebrate

The 100th day of school is approaching! We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Friday, March 5th. This week the children will have many opportunities to practice working with numbers – counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100, grouping objects in different ways, and solving problems. In preparation for this week, please help your child to make a collection of 100 small objects that can fit on a 100 chart. All 100 items must be the same type of object but may be different colors or sizes (e.g. 100 beans or buttons of different colors, 100 paper clips, 100 pasta shapes etc.). Please help your child to count by ones to make 10 piles of 10 items. You may also like to try counting the objects in other ways. Let the children decide. Counting and estimating are in line with Number Sense.

Can you help us with a fun technology project?…

  1. Download a FREE APP to your phone or ipad that will allow you to take a picture of your child and make them appear as if they are old!

Some suggestions include:

  • AgingBooth (iphone)
  • Make Me Old
  • Oldify
  • What Will I look Like Old Face

Please email me your child’s 100 year old photo by Wednesday.

Here is our weekly plan for March 1st – 5th.

I am looking forward to a wonderful week of learning together.
