Women Rights

Women'S March, Political, Rally, Human    Women rights have been a big controversy over the past centuries. I am a girl, and I want to have all the same rights as men when I grow up. we have gotten better over the past decade. But I know we can do better.

Women are human not objects. Men are human their not objects either. shouldn’t we all be able to grow up in a society where women and men can unite as one? and plus why do we have to have gender roles? we as people should be able to see a Girl walk in a suit and not get judge them. A Man should be able to where make up and a dress and not get call  names.

In past years and still in some country’s women are forced to stay at home and work, girls did not get an education. Its saddens me that this happened. girls get judged when they walk out showing “to much skin” because of society. Showing your chest is inappropriate. I believe if men can wear anything so can women.

In the end of the day, my gender does not define me neither does yours if we as people can join hands we can hep make the world a better place.

We also saw sea urchin, sea anemone, sea stars, and we were able to touch Arctic fox fur. If you touch the sea urchin you will have spines of the sea urchin.

Should seal be served on the menu…

Our class was talking about the harp seal on the menu and some people in our class thought it was sad when they killed the harp seal  and some thought the harp seal was cute. But here’s my opinion on the harp seal on the menu.I agree putting the harp seal on the menu because the Canadian Government allows it. The Government says you can harvest  about 400,000 seals every year.We currently harvested about 35,000 harp seals per year.

Also the harp seal is a good source of nutrition and It is rich in protein, iron and iodine also there so many harp seal that we won’t even hurt their population unless if we kill 50,000 harp seal per year.

thank you  for ready my blog :}

Aqua van reflection

My class got to see some sea creatures and we learned  a lot about what’s happening in the ocean and the world. I  thought that the aqua van visit was fun and quite helpful because I learned new things about sea creatures. It was cool because we got to touch and see the sea creatures such as sea urchins, star fish, a crabs, and replicas of a whales jaw bone, a polar bear’s skull and plankton. I have to admit I am terrified of the ocean because I don’t know what’s under there. I want to thank the Vancouver Aquarium for coming and letting me and my classmates see, touch, and learn more about some sea creatures.

Seal on the menu

A couple weeks ago we were learning about a place in B.C called Edible Canada and they served seal. So we had a debate or some sort about should we serve seal on the menu. Are teacher told us to write a comment about should seal be served on the  menu.

My opinion: I think we should not kill seal.

1.Reason- You can endanger seals and lead them to extinction.

1.Example- Humans have endangered animals like the tuna fish.

2.Reason- The world already killed enough animals.

2.Example- Humans have killed sea animals and land animals such as chicken, Pig, Cow, sheep, deer, goat, fish, shrimp, crab, lobster, squid, and others.

3.Reason-Humans already killed many other animals like chicken example humans have endangered animals such as chicken.

3.Example-humans have endangered animals such as salmon and soon other animals such as chicken, sheep, and others.

4.Reason- against- Seals can be served at a restaurant because it’s just  like any other animal.

5.Reason- seal can be served at a restaurant because it’s yummy.

Vancouver Aquarium Reflection

On February 7, aqua van ( http://www.vanaqua.org/facts/share ) came to Douglas road. They showed us animals such as sea urchins, star fish, crabs. they also showed us skeletons of  seals, fox, beaver, and polar bears. I think that it cool they brought animals and skeletons.

i really like when they showed us the starfish. it felt hard, bumpy and spiky. the first time i saw a star fish i thought it would be squishy and soft. did you know that starfish have 2,000 species and could have more that have not been found!

the aqua van team helps insured animals. they also have animals such sting rays, fish, jelly fish, sea urchins, and more .

I personally think its nice that they help animals when they are hurt, but I also believe that if their holding the animals in the aquarium and not letting them go to their natural habitats.

all in all I really love aqua van. they shared with us really cool facts, got us to touch animals, and showed us really cool skeletons. if I were you I would go visit the Vancouver Aquarium.
