Things I Wish For

I got a lot wishes.
But I don’t like fishes.
I want to be superman.
But there’s way too many super fans.
So I guess i’m mortal.
But I want to be immortal.
I want some money.
Because Kit Kats are yummy.
If you’re running out of wishes.
You can ask for some more.
But don’t forget…Be Careful what you wish for.
While there is no set of rules around the structure of a free verse poem, I think you’ve added structure with this series of rhyming couplets that restricts your poem rather than letting it be free verse.
