Congratulations to the entire Polar Express team!  Our cast, choir, stage crew and all our parent volunteers deserve “Bravo” for a job well done!  Putting on a show like this requires an amazing amount of hard work, dedication, trust and team work.  Each one of you contributed to the success of The Polar Express and went for it!  Well done!  In the words of Tom Hanks, “The thing about trains….it doesn’t matter where they’re going.  What matters is deciding to get on.”

I had the pleasure of accompanying Div. 1 to the beautiful Orpheum Theatre last  Wednesday to see and hear the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.  It was an excellent program and a beautiful day!

photoWe spent our first session tuning ukes and eating timbits! Oh, and we learned C and G7 chords! I’m so excited to be working with these students!

Our Remembrance Day Assembly is always an opportunity for quiet, thoughtful reflection.  This year the assembly will be Monday, November 10th at 10:45 in the gym.  The choir will be singing two pieces and one of them will feature a surprise guest.  Let’s just say he’s a “blast from the past”.  Remember to wear your formal black and white attire.

Welcome back everyone!  It has been a great past few weeks and it is shaping up to be another fantastic year!  So here is a quick update for what is happening in the music and dance world here at Confederation Park……

The Intermediate Concert Choir, grades 4 – 7, rehearse Mondays & Wednesdays at lunch.   I will keep you informed of upcoming performances.                                                       Recorder Toot-Tutoring sessions are also available at recess on Mondays & Wednesdays.  All you have to do is let me know if you would like to come in and play your recorder.  Bring a friend if you want to.  Relax and make music!  I will also be there for any extra help, or I will just play along with you!                                                                                 Uke Club – Yes, I would like to start a very small ukulele club for grades 6 & 7.  This small group will meet Thursday mornings at 8:00 in the music room.  If you are interested to learn how to play the ukulele, PRACTISE the ukulele at home, and sing along with me on Thursday mornings then this club is for you.  Let me know if you are interested in joining.
