Dear Families,

What a fun week of snow. We have spent lots of time playing in the snow, talking about how cold it is and making observations about what we notice when we are outside. We have also been practicing putting on coats, doing up zippers, putting on boots and wearing our mittens and gloves independently.

We worked with our buddies to make a pastel snowman and added it to our bulletin board display in the hall. We have also been working on our door decoration. We are making triangles that once we put them all together will make a Christmas tree.

In math we have been focusing on patterns. We did dot art to make ABAB patterns, learning to use only 2 different colours. Here is a video that we will be watching on Monday:

We have also began a Social and Emotional Learning series called Everyday Speech. This is a series of lessons that teach feelings, emotions and how to act in different social situations. This week we have begun talking about feelings, noticing how others around us might be feeing and how our actions impact those around us. Here are a couple of videos that we have watched this week. Click on the links to watch with your child and discuss what they notice and have learned.
