Classroom Expectations

Classroom expectations are a simple set of rules that will allow everyone to feel safe and supported in our classroom community.

Division 4 has five expectations:

  1. Arrive to class on time and ready to learn (including after recess and lunch breaks).
  2. Always face the speaker (teacher, classmate, presenter, etc.) and remain silent while they are talking.
  3. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  4. Follow directions the first time they are given.
  5. Treat everyone with dignity and respect.

We will practice our classroom routines and expectations so that everyone knows exactly what is expected and how it looks in the context of our classroom. Logical consequences will be used when students do not meet our classroom expectations. For example, if a student hurts another person’s feelings they will be asked to prepare a sincere apology or write a letter to that person explaining their actions.

Thank you to both students and parents for your attention to this.
