Activities for Tuesday, May 5: Reading Response, Raz Kids, and Zoom Meeting (2 PM)

Happy Tuesday, Division 10!  I hope you all had a great Monday and spent some time working on the time capsule project.  I spent quite a bit of time listening to your recorded readings yesterday on Raz Kids.  Some of you have not recorded yet or in a while, so I have assigned you a reading to listen to, read, record answer questions about for today.  This week you will be working on creating your own totem pole animal that represents you. Today we will start by learning about what a totem pole is, why it is important, and what is part of a totem pole.  Here are today’s activities:

1) Reading Response: Totem Pole Activity: totem poles tell a story about  the person who made them.  Different animals and people are used to help describe the story and the colours and carvings used are very important.  The order of the people and animals is also very important. Read the article about totem poles *HERE*  and *HERE* twice and then answer the questions on the sheet attached below. Make sure to check your writing for missing details, capitals, and periods.  Email it to me when you are done!  Thank you 🙂

2) Raz Kids:  please listen to, read twice, and answer the questions to a book that you are reading. Don’t rush, Division 10!  A few of you have been assigned new books to read and record yourself reading.  Thank you!

3) Zoom Meeting: at 2 PM today!  Please bring a few pieces of paper, a pencil, colouring supplies, and a quick story to share.  We will be playing another round of the scavenger hunt, doing a bit of math review with money, and listen to Harry Potter ( read aloud). See you there!

Have a great day, Division 10!
