Silent Night with Signed English

October 24, 2023

Hello Singers!

It’s that spooky time of year for music teachers!  We are happily singing Halloween/Fall songs, we’re practising solemn Remembrance Day songs, and looking at Christmas repertoire, all at the same time!  Here are a few updates for tomorrow and the weeks to come.

Silent Night with ASL signed English

As our finale, we will be signing and singing Silent Night at our Holly Jolly Holiday Concert.

Vancouver Chamber Choir and the Great Pumpkin are coming October 30!

For all good little boys and ghouls, we will be working with singers from the Vancouver Chamber Choir that rehearsal, specifically Christmas Angel.  Our thanks to Ms. Fletcher for auditioning our soloists.  We will reveal the soloists tomorrow.  The Great Pumpkin will also be coming on October 30.

Our rehearsal tomorrow will focus on:

The chorus for Christmas Angel and a review of the underlying parts over our soloists in the verses.  I do hope you have solidified this.

The Spanish for A la Media Noche.  We will work on the pronunciation and the part singing.

We will finish The Snow Begins to Fall and expect this one to be put to bed this week.

Signing for Silent Night will be presented and then you will need to rehearse using the video above.

If time, we will learn more of Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.

This is just a reminder that any parts we go over in rehearsal are expected to be learned by the next rehearsal.  It is the only way we can move forward and present new music to you.  We want these songs to be memorized quickly so we can really sing from our hearts.  Keep practising at home Corovoce!  We will be amazing!

Stay tuned for more information around our Christmas Concert, “A Holly Jolly Holiday”

In song,

Caeden, Ms. Ishii, Mr. Nguyen, Kurtus and Mrs. Fierro
