    This Week in Division 16 (Jan. 15-19)

    Hi Families, Welcome back to school! Here are some reminders for the week: **Please bring some extra clothes to keep at school or in your child’s backpack, especially socks. Please put the clothes in a bag with your child’s name on it. Children love to play outside and sometimes they’ll need a change of clothing. Wednesday, January 17: Please return library books Friday, January 19: Family Fridays 8:45-9:05. You are welcome to come into our classroom to read with your child.     This Week in Division 16 (Dec. 18-21)

    Hi Families, I can’t believe that it’s already the last week of school before Winter Break. Our class has learned and grown so much 🙂 Here are some reminders about the last week: Monday, December 18  Dress in festive clothing! You can wear a holiday sweater, socks, bottoms, headband, or hat to school. This is optional. Tuesday, December 19  Pancake breakfast and Pajama Day! Your child can wear pajamas to school if they want to! Our class will go to the gym around 9:00 to get pancake breakfast and hot chocolate. Wednesday, December 20 Please return your library books!     This Week in Division 16 (Dec. 11-15)

    Hi Families, Here are some notes and reminders for the week. Literacy: Last week, we finished learning all the letters in the alphabet and other sounds using Jolly Phonics. We love singing to the songs. You can play these songs at home and have your child show you the songs and actions to continue practicing their phonics skills.     Hi Families, Wow, it’s going to be December soon! Time is going by so fast. I wanted to share that there is a free holiday event at Edmonds Community Centre on Saturday, November 25 from 2:30-5:30PM.     Hi Families, Here are some notes and reminders for the week: This week, we will be learning about peace and being kind and thoughtful as Remembrance Day is on Saturday. Wednesday, November 8:  Library – please return your library books in the purple bag National Indigenous Veterans Day Friday, November 10: ***Please return forms for our Fire Station Tour.     This Week in Division 16 (Oct. 30-Nov.3)

    Hi Families, We had an eventful Friday when our courtyard was filled with pumpkins! Thank you again to Save on Foods for the generous donation. Each student was allowed to take home one pumpkin! We cut open a pumpkin and used our senses to be scientists! Many students wanted to help take out the seeds, so we could wash and roast them! The seeds were so delicious, and we even tried some of the pulp (We roasted them in the school’s oven with some salt and canola oil). Since students loved the roasted seeds so much, we might roast some more on Monday or Tuesday. I will share more photos…
