Welcome to Our Class

This Week in Division 16 (Oct. 30-Nov.3)

Hi Families,

We had an eventful Friday when our courtyard was filled with pumpkins! Thank you again to Save on Foods for the generous donation. Each student was allowed to take home one pumpkin! We cut open a pumpkin and used our senses to be scientists!
Many students wanted to help take out the seeds, so we could wash and roast them! The seeds were so delicious, and we even tried some of the pulp (We roasted them in the school’s oven with some salt and canola oil).
Since students loved the roasted seeds so much, we might roast some more on Monday or Tuesday. I will share more photos soon.

Here are some reminders for the week:

Tuesday, October 31:
Halloween!
If you carved a pumpkin, you can bring it to school on this day only to enter it into the school contest! Students will vote on the creepiest, silliest, and most creative pumpkins.

-Costume Parade
Your child can wear a costume to school, and we will walk around the school and have a little dance party in the gym during the school day.
-Movie
Many students are usually very excited the whole day for Halloween, so in the afternoon, we will watch a movie. I will see if I can get some popcorn! You can bring a special snack for your child and tell them that it’s for after lunch during the movie, or you are welcome to also bring some peanut-free and gelatin-free treats for the class.

Wednesday, November 1:
Pajama Day!
-After a busy Halloween day, everyone in the whole school can wear pajamas to school (this is optional)! Please keep stuffed animals at home.

**Library – please remember to bring in your library books!

Have a wonderful Sunday, and I will send out other updates if needed,
Ms. Zheng
