What makes Volcanoes an extreme environment?

NOTES

MY THINKING

  • Volcanoes have lava in them. Lava is dangerous because it can burn you.
  • Poisonous gases, and chemicals make

Volcanoes an extreme environment because you can not baerth.

  • I wonder how many active volcanoes are on earth.
  • What is the most dangerous active volcano?

What makes Space an extreme environment?:P

Notes

My thoughts

-Space is never ending!

-Space has a white light (big crack) that scientists claim to be the end of space.

-who discovered the white light?

-If space is never ending

then imagine how many stars there are!

NOTES THINKING
There is really dangerous fish the oceans Why are they so ugly?

what makes the sea an extreme envirnment ?

What makes the sea an extreme environment?

notes thinking
In the sea there is very high pressure as you go down the higher the pressure gets.

The deep sea is (1800) meters below sea level which is a long way

The sea has a number of dangerous wild life that

Is very territorial this picture is called a viperfish as you can see it does not want to be friendly and if you go down enough you will see this fish at 5,000 feet below

The viperfish is one of the most unusual-looking fish in the deep sea. It is also one of the most popular and well-known species. Known scientifically as Chauliodus sloani, it is one of the fiercest predators of the deep. This fish can be easily recognized by its large mouth and sharp, fang-like teeth. In fact, these fangs are so large that they will not fit inside the mouth. Instead, they curve back very close to the fish’s eyes. The viperfish is thought to use these sharp teeth to impale its victims by swimming at them at high speeds. The first vertebra, right behind the head, is actually designed to act as a shock absorber. This fearsome looking creature has a long dorsal spine that is tipped with a photophore, a light-producing organ. The viperfish uses this light organ to attract its prey

how is the moon  inportaint to are every day lives?

   Note

thinking

  • Space is an extreme environment because of its lack of oxygen and gravity

  • The moon is an extreme environment because there is no oxygen, zero gravity, no living plants and its colder there.

  • It would be impossible to live in space without any equipment because of all the pressure (meaning your head would explode from gasses and no oxygen.)

  • Why does gravity take apart of living? Gravity is a part of living because without it we would float away.

  • The sun is actually a star and apparently when a star gets to big it explodes so in 2000 years the sun will explode.

  • One thing I’ve been thinking about is I think that Pluto is Neptune’s moon it just has a separated distance from it.

What makes the arctic an extreme environment?

What makes the arctic an extreme environment?

facts My thinking
On the tundra, it is usually cold, often windy, and there is little rain.

The soils are frozen most of the year.

At the North and South Poles, the sun circles above the horizon for half the year, then takes a day or so to set, followed by several weeks of twilight and maybe three months of full darkness before spring approaches. At the Arctic and Antarctic Circles, there are 24 hours of sunlight and 24 hours of twilight/night at their respective solstices; the rest of the year has the same seasonal variations in sunlight as most of the world, but to a much greater degree. In between, there are extended periods of sunlight and darkness, longer toward the poles, separated by periods of day/night or day/twilight cycles.

I think that the Arctic makes a extreme environment because people need lots of warm gear just to go outside.

It must be hard to live there if you cannot grow food there.

The light cycle is interesting but when it’s dark it would be hard to hunt and find and gather plants for food.

What makes the sea an extreme environment?

Notes Thoughts
*Water pressure get’s greater, the lower you are under the sea.

*You can’t breathe under water.

*Fish have adapted to live in sea pressure.

* How do fish live so far deep under the sea?

*How does water pressure form?

Space is a extreme environment

 Notes My Thinking
Why is space a extreme environment?

  • Because you need oxygen to survive and space does not have oxygen.
  • Also the sun is in space and if you get to close to it you might boil to death!
  • Also there are planets like Venus which has poison gases.

Fun Fact! Did you know that 100 Earths could fit inside Jupiter’s red storm.

Connection

Neil Armstrong went to the moon and it took 3 days to get there.

Question

What’s so extreme about space?

Answer

What’s so extreme?!  What’s extreme about space is you need a space suit and it has to have lots of oxygen.

That is what makes space a extreme environment!

what makes a trench an extreme environment

           Notes      My thinking
There is no sunlight in each and every trench so when you are trying to get some where you don`t know where you are going.
In a trench there is really high water pressure so the air gets thinner and at some point you explode.  What makes high water pressure?
In a trench the water is really cold so it is hard to be warm.

What makes earthquakes an extreme environment?

Notes

My Thoughts

  •   The strongest earthquakes only last 2-3 minutes but can level entire cities.

  • Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes.
  •   That is dangerous because lots of people can be killed by all the falling debris and cracks in the earth.
