Hello Parents,
This is what we have been doing in the following subjects:
Science: Students were assigned a project last week. For the past few weeks, students have been learning about the Life Cycle of a Product. Students researched different cycles and products. They chose their product last week and helped design a marking rubric for their project. The rubric will be handed out tomorrow.
S.S: Mapping – students labelled two world maps in the past few weeks. They had to find seas, oceans, mountain ranges, countries, continents, lines of latitude and longitude. Students have marked one another’s to gain confidence. They will be doing another map where they will need to be more specific with the boundaries between continents, mountain ranges, seas etc. Students will eventually be quizzed on this. Students have also been learning about how to use an Atlas. They have played games to help them locate different places by using the coordinates of our map.
Reading: Students continue to do research for their projects and are reading articles which involve comprehension questions. Students will also be listening to readings on Reducing, Reusing and Recycling and Lines of Longitude and Latitude.
Writing: Students are writing research and responding to comprehension questions. We are working on editing and students just finished a handwriting booklet. We are beginning to write reflections on our work.
