My heart aches a little every time I see little people anxious about getting too close to others. When I see my neighbors walking along the sidewalk with their children I shout a friendly ‘hello’ from across the street, thinking that it may make everyone feel a little closer. At a park last week I noticed some children cover their eyes to avoid strangers, which isn’t too unusual since we all can experience stranger anxiety, but I wondered how much more stressful these situations may be with fears around Covid-19. One of our kindergarten teachers came across a video that helps children understand the nature of this virus and explains what can be done to prevent infection.
