Dear Parents,
Today, we started off with our Safety Day Read Aloud that the librarian did on Zoom. Then, we did a 3.5-minute Math Minute of Long Division and took it up. Following that, I assigned students in groups, six 3D shape nets to cut-out and construct. Students had to work together to fold up all of their 3D shapes and cut them out by assigning roles. They did a great job! Then, I asked some questions about vertices, faces (# and shape), and edges that students answered. After, students had snack and went outside for recess.
Following recess, we did a Blooket on 3D shape names and counting faces, edges, and vertices in the Tower Defense Mode. Then, we read through a few animals and students had to highlight the adaptations by colour based on whether they were behavioural or physical adaptations. After, Ms. Varley came in and did an activity with the class.
After lunch, students continued working on their stories. Their stories are going to be due on Tuesday next week. Students should re-read their stories before handing it in as their rough copy will be marked.
Then, we had DPA and then did a safety tour around the school with our buddies.
Reminder: Safety pledges are due by the end of the week (hand in as soon as possible) and student needs to read 30 minutes each day as usual. Yay! We got to our 50 points from the class’ reading! Students will get a movie class later this week.
Have a good night!
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
