Dear Parents,

Today, we started off with doing some planting. At lunch, we planted a variety of flowers into our planter box outside of our classroom as well. Hopefully, we get some beautiful blooms 🙂

Then, we talked about hundredths in decimal form and fraction form and how they are different than tenths. I also modeled how to colour in numbers like 0.10 vs. 0.01. We also briefly talked about equivalent decimals such as 0.1 and 0.10 and why they are the same by using the place value chart. Students were assigned pages 201-202 #1-2, 4-11 and it is homework if not already finished in class. After, students engaged in a “word search competition.” However, this was just an April Fool’s joke as it was a Word Search with none of the actual words in it :’)

After, students had recess and snack. Then, we went to Buddies and students read with their buddies. When we came back, students wrote their Weekend Journal Outline: Write a story about the future (students should aim for 1.5 pages) and should remember to complete the two checklists.

Following lunch, students worked on their Story Mountain to plot out their story and created another supporting character. This is homework if not already finished in class as well. Then, students did their planners, had Community Time, and cleaned up.
