Dear Parents,
Today, we started off with our Spelling Test. I have noticed that the average went down on this test – I asked the students if they felt ready for the test or if they felt they should’ve studied more and quite a few felt they should have studied more. Please continue to check in that your child is practicing their spelling words daily, even if it’s just for 10 minutes per day. I have handed back the test and will be posting it on Fresh Grade later today.
Then, we went over 24 hour time and did some practice. The students are starting to really get it, which is great. Just a bit of difficulty between 12:00 pm times and 12:00 am times as these are either 12:– or 00:–. We practiced on the whiteboards and will continue to practice tomorrow.
Then, students had music and recess.
When they came in from recess, they had snack and then they were assigned to finish their buddy letter, 2032 booklet if not done, and then they were allowed to do the Typing Program until lunchtime. I love how this program helps with their spelling, reading, and writing as well as overall typing.
After lunch, we did our Daily 5 stations, had DPA, and then had library.
Tomorrow, the Coast Salish Art is due.
Note about Valentine’s Day: Students can bring individually wrapped candy or cards for the class. Please make sure there is enough for each student to get one please. There are 27 students in the class.
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
