Dear Parents,
Today, we started off with identifying the rhyme scheme for some awesome Dinosaur poems I read to the kids today.
Students got new spelling words that are almost all homophones. The test is on Thursday, November 25th next week.
Then, as a review for the Math test on Thursday, I made the students a “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” game to practice their place value skills in groups. We didn’t finish it today, so we will continue tomorrow.
We had snack and since it was a blustery day, we started watching “Hotel Transylvania 2.” As well, I checked the students’ desks.
Following recess, we started reading through a new script called “What, No Santa?” in Drama and students then practiced reading and acting in small groups. After, students had their last class to work on their Social Studies shoebox. This is due on Wednesday.
After lunch, we worked on acrostic poems by writing our own as a class and then students worked on their rough copies of their own personal ones. We talked about how to write a more advanced Acrostic poem than in previous grades. Students’ rough copies are due tomorrow if not done in class.
Then, we had DPA, planners, clean-up and Gym. In Gym, we practiced some more basketball skills through games and reviewed what we had learned last class. We ended the class with practicing bounce passes and shooting a bit in the hoops.
Have a good night!
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
