Dear Parents,
Happy Friday! Today, we started off with silent reading and then our spelling test. I have marked these and will be posting them on Fresh Grade shortly. Just a reminder that students have 10 days to study the 10 words and definitions and should be studying a little bit every day to prepare.
After, we took up the Math diagnostic quiz and I did some example problems from the quiz with the students. Then, they worked in partners to practice the questions I put on the board on their individual whiteboards. Students are encouraged to use their practice quiz to practice for the final unit test coming up (no date set yet).
After snack and recess, we had buddies! I went over the expectations of being a big buddy! The kids did a great job and I was really proud of them.
Following lunch, we wrote down our weekend journal and students did a little outline for their weekend journal. The journal is: What is your favourite animal? Give three reasons why and explain with an introduction and conclusion. Students should aim to write one page. This is due on Monday.
As well, just a reminder that students have their provinces and territories quiz next Thursday. They will need to be able to map out the different provinces and territories and match the capital city name to each province/territory. Spelling does not count on this one.
At the end of the day, students had community time.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
