Dear Parents,

Today, we started out with a Math lesson. We worked on Lesson 3 of Chapter 1 for Patterns. I went through some examples on the board of how to use a table and draw figures instead of building them. Then, we went through some of the Math vocabulary and had students find the words in their Math dictionary booklets. Students were then given time to work on pages 16-17 #1, 3, 5 and it is homework if not done. Students must use a ruler for their Math work. Then, we had snack and a fire drill to practice.

After recess, I worked with students on reviewing our journal student checklists and teacher checklists that we will be using to review our weekend journals. Then, we talked about capitalization and when to use upper case letters. We differentiated and brainstormed examples for common nouns and proper nouns as well. Then, students were given a practice sheet to correct the capitals and we peer marked them.

After lunch, we had our Daily 5 stations for spelling, writing, and guided reading with the teacher. Reminder that the spelling test is on Friday this week.

Then, we wrote our planners, had DPA, cleaned up, and students went to Music.

A reminder that tomorrow is Orange shirt day, so students are encouraged to wear orange and there is no school on Thursday.
