Dear Parents,

Today, we started off with our literature circles. Our next one will be on Tuesday of next week and students can start working on it.

After, we had snack and went outside for DPA.  Following DPA, we had the Grade 4 Explorers presentations. They did great and I will be posting their rubrics on FreshGrade ASAP.

Following the presentations, we completed our last page of our tide booklets connecting the different tides with various phases of the moon, in particular with neap tides and spring tides. Then, we did a flash card scavenger hunt where students answered 22 questions in 10 minutes about moon phases. This helped them study for their quiz on Monday. Then, we read a bit of “Wonder” and then had lunch.

After lunch, the Grade 4s wrote their reading FSA and I worked with the Grade 5s on differentiating your/you’re and there/they’re/their and we also did some practice on selecting titles for our written pieces and practice on capitalization.

Following recess, Ms. Peddie came and we worked on using text evidence to support making connections to the books we are reading.
