Friday, February 19th

Dear Parents,

Today, we started off with talking more about making connections in our reading response roles and we discussed how to ask good questions that have many answers. These questions are open questions. We are avoiding closed questions that only allow for one answer or a one-word answer that doesn’t spark discussion. Then, I read more of “Wonder” to the kids and they wrote down their questions and answers. This is homework if not done.

After, they had snack and Music and then we went out for DPA. Before lunch, we had Gym where we played a really fun games with a lot of variations that involved hula hoops. I’ll post it on Fresh Grade – they had a lot of fun.

After lunch, I introduced a new Art project to the kids, which was a lot of fun. We started to design and work on making our own little latch hook rugs. The designs look really cool right now and the kids are doing a great job!

At the end of the day, they had community time.

The homework for this weekend is for Grade 5s to finish their French project and to answer the weekend journal. The prompt is: If you could meet one famous person, who would you want to meet and why? This is due on Monday.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
