Hi everyone,
This morning, we started with discussing references and benchmarks to imagine 1 mL, 5 mL, and 15 mL. Students practiced determining between two measurements, which measurement was more accurate to measure the capacity of certain items. We also worked on counting square centimetres by adding together little pieces of an object on a grid to make full square centimetres and approximate the area with grid paper.
After, we had snack and DPA.
Then, students worked in groups to complete their French month books today. Each group was given two months and students had to think of a word to symbolize that month and write the french word beside it. Then, we presented this for the class and everyone recorded the words to add to their vocabulary. They did a great job!
After lunch, we worked on the introductions for our persuasive writing piece that we started the other day with the help of our outlines.
At the end of the day, Ms. Peddie came in to continue the activity on dialogue that the kids started last week.
Just a heads up that I am going to be at a conference tomorrow, so I will not be here so I will not be posting a blog post. The weekend journal is for students to persuade me whether students should be given homework or not. I want them to use separate paragraphs, include an introduction, a conclusion, as well as evidence hand explanations to back up their three reasons.
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
