Hi Everyone,
Today, we started off with our “Battle of the Biomes!” It was so exciting to see the students’ presentations. We had 5 of the Grade 4’s present today and the last two presentations (for students that were absent) will take place on Monday. Then, we will do a secret ballot where Grade 5’s will vote on which presentation they thought was the most convincing.
After that, Grade 5’s were given their Rube Goldberg project groups and started making a plan together for their final project. Grade 4’s worked more on their crayon artwork and we will melt it next week.
Then, the students had Music and then DPA. In Gym, we played with frisbees and did a number of different drills and practices in groups and partners. It was really fun.
After lunch, we did a Math Scavenger Hunt Challenge where students had to calculate the area and perimeter of different objects to match the criteria given in groups. Then, they worked on their Santa letters. We finished off the day with community time.
The Weekend Journal Prompt is: What are you most excited for for Winter Break, due Monday.
Have a good weekend!
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
