Hi Everyone! Happy Monday 🙂

Today, we started off with taking up the Math homework and then students were assigned to complete the Show What You Know for Chapter 1:

Grade 4: pages 28-29 #1-8

Grade 5:  pages 30-31 #1-9

and if it is not finished, it is due tomorrow.

The Patterning Test is on Wednesday, so students should be reviewing for the test.

After DPA, we went over the new spelling words and students copied down the words and definitions. It is immigration themed this week as last week we did provinces/territories words. The spelling test is on Thursday, October 13th.

Then, students had computer time to work on their Social Studies projects assigned last week and then time to work on their Drama skit for the Silly Short Stories.

After lunch, the students presented their timelines and it was really neat to see all of the photos and hear the students talk about them.

Finally, we started our directed Starry Night artwork. We are doing this in crayon and then covering it with watercolour in order to make a colour resist piece of artwork. They look really neat so far! The students in my class from last year are working to recreate other pieces of Van Gogh Artwork such as “The Sunflowers” or “The Postman.”
