Dear Parents,

Today, I was in and out of the classroom because of Jump Rope for Heart supervision that I was helping organize, so it was a pretty relaxed day for the kids. They had a TOC come in for some of the morning. They started off with reading and working on their rugs – they look great! Then, they went to the Gym for skipping and outside for DPA.

When we came in, we did a lesson on tenths and talked about how tenths fit into the place value chart and how to write a fraction in word form e.g. 1/10 = one-tenth and in decimal form = 0.1 and practiced illustrating various tenths. The pages for homework are 198-199 #1-8 if they are not done.

After lunch, the students read and worked on their rugs again and then I gave them their journal homework due Monday – If you were an explorer, where would you sail to? What would your ship look like and who would your crew be/how many people? It is 1/2 page to 3/4 page and due on Monday. Then, the students went to read with their buddies.

At the end of the day, students had community time.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
