Dear Parents,

Today, we had our energy projects and weekend journals due. I was disappointed that less than half of the class handed in their energy projects and journals. Students taking responsibility for their work is very important to me, so I have told them that I will not accept the energy project past tomorrow (unless they are sick or other circumstances). We continued to work on long division with decimals and I introduced the Math Mountain game a bit: https://www.funbrain.com/games/math-mountain – we will continue to practice long division in the upcoming days to further solidify this process. Then, students worked on their Turtle Island comics.

After lunch, we started listening to the audiobook for “Wonder” as an introduction to how to find new vocabulary words and look them up, as this is one of our Literature Circle stations for the upcoming term (Term 3) when we start doing our Literature Circle Roles. Then, we divided into our Daily 5 group activities. Our spelling test is on this upcoming Thursday!

At the end of the day, students worked on their totem pole artwork and handed it in! They did an amazing job on this and I will post them on Fresh Grade soon!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
