Dear Parents,
This morning we had a pattern scavenger hunt! It was a lot of fun and the students competed in their teams to find the most patterns in nature and had to draw it down on a paper. Then, we shared our patterns on the board. This was to start off our new unit: Patterns. I am happy to announce that the students did very well on their Math Tests yesterday 🙂
We also had library today and a Music rehearsal for the Christmas concert!
At the end of the day we did a class meeting. We talked about how we shouldn’t be using the word “hutter” (which I learned means loser) and not making a big deal when someone makes a mistake. I also talked about how important it is to care about other people – other students, staff, etc. and how that is my ultimate goal for the kids at school.
We also started our energy unit today and talked about what energy is. Then, we completed a true and false activity to test our prior knowledge on energy and discuss the answers. We learned about potential and kinetic energy and introduced the different types of energy. We also talked about how energy cannot be destroyed, but it is transferred or transformed.
I am looking for an extension cord to borrow if anyone has one 🙂 We are also still accepting canned good donations!
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
