Dear Parents,

Today, the students had Music in the morning. Then, we got some nice sunshine today (hurray – yesterday was so dreary!) and went outside for DPA. Then, we took up the Math homework from last night and reviewed some learning topics from the beginning of our place value/numbers unit. There is no Math homework tonight. We painted our pinatas in preparation for Halloween next week! Just a reminder for Halloween that if your child wants to bring something, it cannot have peanuts in it! Students cannot bring weapons or masks to school either please.

We worked on Day 2 of our FSA’s and finished students (for the online component) worked on some word work sheets to practice their spelling words for the spelling test on Thursday. It is words 21-30 this week.

Then, we did some research online for our medieval buildings. Each student is in a group of 2-3 kids and they have been assigned a medieval building. Their job will be to create a blueprint and design their medieval building, then we will use plaster to coat the building to make it look ancient. We will then put all of the buildings together to make a little mini class village! We looked at buildings on http://www.kidsonthenet.com/castle/view.html and the students started to make some sketches of ideas. I am very excited for this project!

Then, we worked more on our starry night artwork.
