Today we watched an informative video on how to better take care of our plants – https://www.planttherapyyvr.com/post/how-to-water-your-houseplants . I didn’t know that this was the best way to water plants, so we are trying to implement this to see if our plants will do even better and the water reaches the roots more.

We also started our new chapter book read-aloud called “Castle in the Attic”. I am excited to read the predictions the students made for the book.

Then, we worked on adding four-digit numbers. I used playing cards to demonstrate adding up the digits and the students worked on pages 57-58 #2, 4, 5, 6, & 7. It is due tomorrow and we will take it up.

Student Picture orders are also due tomorrow! Retakes are on Thursday if you would like a re-take.

We also started the online FSA’s today. I’m sorry – I wrote that the province gets the results only, but I learned today that you will receive the results in a personalized envelope when they are marked. Sorry for this correction! We will finish the online part and the written booklet (hopefully) this week. This is done ALL AT SCHOOL and it not to be completed at home.

We also started our Starry Night landscapes (sorry – it’s been a busy start to the school year so we haven’t done a ton of Art yet). We are doing a step-by-step directed drawing to recreate Vincent Van Gogh’s famous art piece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLNU6dPi93s&t=199s We will finish it another day.

The third spelling test is also on Thursday!
