Celebrating 100 Days

Book Fair Volunteers Needed!

No experience needed! ~ Before school, at lunch, or after school ~

Thank you to all the students who created questions to our Think Math answer this week:
The answer is 22 green shamrocks left over.
There were 34 shamrocks. Lucy took 5. Then Rose took 3 for her family. Then Isabelle’s mom took 4. How many left over? ~ Emily
There were 38 shamrocks and Sunny took 16. How many are left? ~ Aqsa
There were 23 green shamrocks. 2 got crushed by a tornado and 1 grew back. How many left? ~ Cruise
There were 30 shamrocks. Somebody took 8 shamrocks away. How many are left? ~ Ella S
There were 42 shamrocks. Rishi whined and whined until he got 4. Chace bought 8 with 8 dollars. Then Sunny bought 8 too. How many left? ~ Sunny

Jump Rope 4 Heart 2018

On Friday, March 16th, for the 36th year in a row, Nelson students participated in:
Participating in Jump Rope for Heart helps Nelson students learn the importance of physical activity, healthy eating and giving to others.
We jumped with our buddies & friends from 1:00-2:00 in the gymnasium & competed in challenges given by Mr. Morrison.

St. Michaels Visit

On Thursday morning, we visited Saint Michaels with Miss Gatenby’s grade 1s for our 1st time this year & sang for the seniors.
I’m so proud of how everyone performed and were so respectful in a much different environment than you’re used to. Way to go grade 2s & 3s!
After entertaining, we were all spoiled with snacks and brought goodie bags back with us to school!

The answer is 48 students & 2 adults going bowling at Old Orchard Bowling Alley.
6 adults went for lunch. 2 adults went to Old Orchard bowling alley. 46 kids were there. 2 more kids came. How many students all together? ~ Marian
There are 16 adults at Old Orchard. 14 went because it was lunchtime! 48 students didn’t want to leave so how many left? ~ Marian
There are 2 classes and each class had 24 students. They had a field trip to Old Orchard bowling alley. There were only 2 teachers to monitor them because they have to stay together anyway to bowl. How many all together? ~ Ella L
There are 50 students and 10 adults in Old Orchard bowling alley. 2 students got kicked out because they pulled off an insane prank. 8 adults left because they thought it was boring. How students and adults bowling? ~ Sunny

Beauty and the Beast

Nelson primary students walked to Burnaby South on Tuesday morning to watch Confederation Park students’ performance of Beauty and the Beast. After settling into the comfy seats of the Michael J Fox Theatre we all enjoyed the show! What an incredibly talented group of students!!!!
