Nelson Book Swap! Wed, June 15th!!
Nelson’s Book Swap is Back!
Bring in your gently-used children’s books to school from June 1st to 14th.
Story books, novels/chapter books, and non-fiction are all accepted. No magazines, encyclopedias, reference or adult books.
Donate as many books as you like and all students will get a new book for summer reading! Please contact Mrs. Roberts in the library if you have any questions!

Speed Demons 2022
Nelson students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 participated in our annual Speed Demons competition this afternoon. Division 9 had lots of fun racing against other grade 3s and all did an awesome job! Click on the runner below to see everyone fly!

Sports Day is Coming…❄️
We met with our Grade 7 buddies today to put together the Sports Day banners and tally the amount of banner squares each House Team created. Every square equals one point and every point counts on the big day! 4 more days!!

ALPHABET COUNTDOWN
My favourite (soon to be yours too!) time of the school year has arrived!
The ALPHABET COUNTDOWN has begun!
For the rest of the school year we’ll be celebrating each day with a letter, or two. We’ll be participating in activities and/or dressing in something special to make our last month together memorable and lots of fun!

Sports Day Spirit Days!
Sports Day is next Friday, June 3rd! Each day next week students will have an opportunity to wear each of the house colours to earn points for their own House Team. I can’t wait to see the sea of colours and feel the excitement of Sports Day grow during the week!

Thank you to all the students who created questions to our Think Math answer last week:
The answer is 30 flowers blooming in the garden.
42 flowers blooming. Some kids stepped on 12 flowers. How many flowers are there now? ~ Saawan
32 flowers blooming in the garden. 1 bloomed too big and exploded and 1 ran away from the garden. How many left? ~ Elly
45 flowers blooming. 17 were alive and went for a bath in the ocean. 12 got eaten by a shark and 3 drowned. How many left? ~ Arthur
31 flowers blooming in the garden. 1 died. How many left? ~ Desil
There were 90 flowers but only 1/3 of them bloomed. How many flowers blooming? ~ Malachi
They had 1 flower blooming. 29 grew. How many now? ~ Alex
They had 60 flowers blooming. 30 got eaten by a dog. How many left? ~ Alex
