The answer is 80 students receiving academic awards. 
There are 90 students in the gym to get an award. Miss Mur Mur Mur kicks 5 people out! Then Casandra leaves & Chloe for a bake sale! Then Julia goes for a doughnut break! Then 2 more people leave! How many students winning awards? ~ Chloe
There are 72 students receiving academic awards. 8 more students receive 8 academic awards. How many in all? ~ ?
There are 70 students getting ready for the academic awards. A few minutes later Casandra brings 10 people with her then 1 person had to go to the washroom & left. How many in all? ~ Cayla

There were 70 students receiving academic awards & Chloe said, “Wait! Let me get 5 more students” & Miss Mur Mur said, “I will get 5 more students & Sahana got her lunch & saw the students receiving academic awards. How many in all? ~ Sahana
There are 100 students receiving academic awards, then Chloe posts fliers about her amazing macaroon stand & 20 students go. 10 students didn’t like the macaroon flavours so they left the stand. Then Casandra comes in & hosts a party at the beach & 10 students go. How many students left receiving academic awards? ~ Julia
There were 78 students receiving academic awards, but then they forgot about 2 students so then they were given academic awards. How many in all? ~ Mia
There were 90 students about to receive an award. 2 kids go to the washroom & miss their award. Julia said, “Oh I see a student wearing a doughnut shirt! WAIT! WHAT? THERE’S A KID WEARING A DOUGHNUT SHIRT!” Then she went up to the students that were wearing the doughnut shirts & gave them another shirt. 5 kids went into dong dong do land & they missed their awards. Cayla saw 2 kids from Grade 3 & asked them to sit down. How many students receiving academic awards? ~ Casandra

There are 30 people getting ready to go on a field trip. Then 10 people follow Casandra to a mall & Casandra leaves because the mall’s cookies were very yummy. Then Julia goes to find a daily doughnut. Then Chloe finds her daily macaroon. How many in allgoing on the field trip? ~ Cayla
There are 10 students going on a field trip & Chloe said Let me get 5 more & Kian said I will get 3 more students & then all of us went on a field trip. How many in all? ~ Sahana
There are 25 students going on a trip. 1 minute later, Chloe yells LET’S GO TO PARIS! The whole class agrees except for Julia. She wants to go to doughnut land! Then 5 students leave! I WANT A DOUGHNUT! says Julia then she leaves. Then Sahana , Casandra & Cayla fall into macaroon land. How many students left? ~ Chloe
There are 22 students about to go on a field trip. 2 kids had to go to the washroom & missed the bus. Then Julia threw 20 doughnuts at Chloe’s face then went to doughnut land. Chloe felt so sick that she skipped the field trip. How many kids still going on the field trip? ~ Casandra

There are 45 sprouts about to bloom. Julia adds a special growing formula & then 6 plants begin to grow very quickly & bloom. Then Chloe said, ” Mine did not bloom!” & was so mad that she threw 3 plants in lalaland & went to get a macaroon. How many plants blooming? ~ Casandra
There are 20 plants blooming on Mrs. James’ windowsill. 1 person brings 20 more then after another person brought 2 more. How many in all? ~ Bariki
There are 60 people growing plants! 30 mins later Sahana says I’m having a birthday party! Then 5 people leave to go to her birthday party! Then 3 people plan her party! Then Julia leaves to go to the doughnut store. Then Vera & Casandra leave to go to the party! Then again, like always, Mrs. MurMurMur kicks out 4 people! Then 4 people go for the macaroon sale! There are 20 Sports Day stations. Then Cayla got an idea & made 1 more Sports Day station. Then Julia said, “There has to be a doughnut Sports Day station!” So she made one! Then Chloe said, “I’m tired” so she got rid of 2 & 1 more that was the doughnut one. Julia got mad so mad that she threw doughnuts at Chloe & then Chloe fell into doughnut lalaland. So then Sahana said no one is coming to my station so she closed her station. Then Cayla said, “I want a macaroon” so she closed her station & left for her macaroon. There were 10 people doing sports. 2 minutes later Sahana bakes macaroons for everybody. 2 people go get some. Then Sahana joins Sports Day! Then Chloe makes 3 more people join. Then Cayla joined & stays for 2 mins then leaves to buy a cat then comes right back! Then Casandra drags 4 people to Sports Day. Then Vera joins! Then they came back! Then 5 more people had dance then left. Then the people shopping for macaroons come back! Then Mrs. James stays for 1 minute then leaves to feed Squishy. 110 people going to the Red House meeting. Then Chloe said, “I’m hungry” & went to get a macaroon. Then 5 more people said, “I want a macaroon too” so they left! Then Julia said, “Why go to this meeting when we can go for a doughnut instead?” Then 5 people said Great idea! So they left then Cayla decided to have a Spelling Bee then 10 people said I want to go & 1 of them was Sahana & she won. How many people still going to the house meeting? ~ Casandra
