Literacy Week!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 31st
FAMILY DROP IN & READ

All family members are welcome
to join their kids in their classrooms
to enjoy a book together!
Brothers and sisters will be
reading together in the younger siblings
classroom.

Author Visit!

The primary students of Nelson were so very lucky to have authors Megan Williams and Madison Reaveley visit and read us their books, Don’t Call the Office and I Don’t Want To! in our gymnasium last Wednesday. They shared with us how they write their stories and also answered many of our questions. Division 8 was extra lucky to have them visit our classroom afterwards and help us with wonderful ideas on how to make our Friday Journal letter homes the best they can be! Thank you Megan and Madi!! Click HERE to see pictures and HERE to order a copy of one of their fabulous books!!

Library Success!!

We did it!!
Everyone returned or renewed their library books today and I’m so proud of your responsibility.
Way to go Grade 3s!
Fingers crossed we can do it again next week!

Summer Reading Program

Who knew reading 15 minutes a night for 50 nights could lead to a medal!?
Kennedy and I had so much fun hanging out with Mrs. Roberts and her daughter Rachel at the Burnaby Public Library this morning.
I was so excited to see Lucas and Casandra there to receive their medals too!
Thank you so much to the Burnaby Public Library for the fun morning and the medal for doing what Kennedy and I love!

Readers are Leaders

Sept. 1st!! I hope everyone has been reading 15 mins a day for 50 days this summer like Kennedy and me!
If so, you’ll be rewarded with the highly coveted summer reading club medal! I can’t wait to see all of you at the medal ceremony and pancake breakfast on Sat., Sept. 7th.

Readers Are Leaders

Every year we celebrate students who achieve 200 nights of Bookbeast Reading. In recent years Mrs. Roberts has introduced a new 250 nights level and it takes a special student with great dedication and responsibility to achieve this. What an awesome accomplishment. Way to go Division 8 250 Night Readers! I’m so proud of you!

Bookbeast Success!!
