Remembrance Day

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend and the opportunity to either go see a ceremony or watch one on t.v.
Kennedy and I visited Mountain View Cementary and helped to make a poppy field, and learned a little history, at the graves of thousands of fallen Canadian soldiers with over 6,000 handmade poppies.

In Flander’s Fields

A number of brave souls from Division 8 volunteered to practice on their own time in order to present this famous Remembrance Day poem written during the First World War by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae.

Well done everyone! I’m so proud of our contribution to this Nelson tradition.
