Our last morning together…we watched a photo story of all of our fun we’ve had together over the last 10 months, signed autograph pages for each other and I shared one of my very favourite Dr. Seuss books, Oh, the Places You’ll Go.
A big Thank you to you and your families for sending your Flat Stanleys
all around the world this year. It’s been so exciting having them return with pictures, mementos, postcards and so much great information about the places they visited. I look forward to receiving more when I return to Nelson in September. If you’ve still got yours, please take lots of pictures around town & in your travels abroad! If you’ve sent yours and do not have one, click HERE to print off another. I can’t wait to see all the places that you explore this summer!

Primary classes at Nelson were fortunate to have a viewing of the movie A Plastic Ocean this week. It showed us the environmental impact of all of the plastic we use and throw away everyday.
Division 8, what can you do to help with the problem of plastic waste polluting our oceans?
Each of us can make a difference and an impact on those around us.

I never use plastic single use bottles of water and I will not use plastic bags when I buy groceries at the store. What is your promise to our oceans?

After watching the grade 6s & 7s compete in their Battle of the Books, divs 8 & 9 were inspired to have their own battle. After weeks of reading and developing questions, we met with Mrs. Roberts in the library and battled!

After the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in 6 games, they are onto Round 3! Congratulations to Rishi, Ella L, Kayla, Gurmannat, Neo, Helen, Aqsa, and Emily for correctly predicting the outcome of Round Two!
We’ve voted to follow the series between the Winnipeg Jets and the Las Vegas Golden Knights. I’m so happy to cheer on a Canadian Team along with Kennedy’s cousins who live in Winnipeg! Go Jets Go!!!

The NHL Playoffs have begun!
We have voted to follow the matchup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers!
After each game, we’ll graph the game winning team on a pie chart, the score on a bar graph and keep tallies of the Penguins players goals and assists. I wonder whose prediction will be correct at the end of the 1st Round!?
