Author Visit!

The primary students of Nelson were so very lucky to have authors Megan Williams and Madison Reaveley visit and read us their books, Don’t Call the Office and I Don’t Want To! in our gymnasium last Wednesday. They shared with us how they write their stories and also answered many of our questions. Division 8 was extra lucky to have them visit our classroom afterwards and help us with wonderful ideas on how to make our Friday Journal letter homes the best they can be! Thank you Megan and Madi!! Click HERE to see pictures and HERE to order a copy of one of their fabulous books!!

My Special Grandparent

Today Division 8 and 9 students were read Shi-Shi-Etko and talked about the importance of grandparents and other elders in the lives of young people. Students are completing this sheet about an important grandparent in their life. Who are they, what are their interests and what have they taught you? Please go over the questions with your child and share any information that would be helpful with completing the activity.

Spelling Begins Today!

Our first Spelling words of the year are our classmates names! It’s always great knowing how to spell our friends names, practice for Valentines etc., and Ms. Watt will be using them in our dictation sentences throughout the year. This paper comes home today and students will be tested on the names next Wednesday. Please click on the SPELLING tab above to find dozens of fun ways to practice your spelling words this week and all year long!
