We watched the  ovie Paddington in Peru with Ms. Tsumori’s class as we were waiting to perform for Space! The Musical!
In the morning, we wrote otes to our Dads to gift them on Father’s Day on Sunday!

~ JUMPY Poppin Rockets! Science with baking soda & vinegar!
We created a chemical reaction in a film canister! The vinegar reacts with the baking soda and produces carbon dioxide gas. Pressure builds up until the small canister can no longer contain the gas. The lid pops off, the canister shoots up into the air, the gas escapes, and the pressure is released.

~ CY Treats! We recovered from the hot weather with a freeze pop in the classroom4!

~ We took the opportunity today to shade ourselves from the sun and wear our favourite HATS all day long!
We also said HELLO! to Susan, Ms. Long’s sister!, who read us a book she authored. So cool!!

~ FIELD trip to the Children’s FESTIVAL!

~ Jelly Beans, Sours, Mike & Ikes, Ju Jubes… Count the Candies!!
We spent the morning using referents and good ‘ol fashioned thoughtful guesses to ESTIMATE how many candies were in the jars.
After all the Guessing Jar estimates had been counted, the winners were announced today. Drumroll please………
Taiden, Adam, Janelle and Elijah!
Well done to all Division 9 students for all your excellent estimates! Can’t wait to enjoy the candies at another Alphabet Countdown day very soon…

We also watched the grade 4-7s participate in Speed emons and get awarded at the end of the day! Can’t wait to cheer you on in the races next year!

~ bubbles, Bubbles, & MORE BUBBLES! Using hand made pipe cleaners and with the wind in our favour, we created hundreds of beautiful bubbles!!
