W is for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

W ~ WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE! One of Ms. Watt’s favourite books. After watching a video reading of Where the Wild Things Are we played a Jeopardy type game to test our knowledge of Maurice Sendak’s book.

V is for VACATION FROM SCHOOL

V ~ VACATION from School at Suncrest Water Park! We spent our morning playing in the spray park, on the playground and relaxing on our blankets with our friends. Cool, windy weather unfortunately had us heading back to school after lunch, but we got a quick side visit with Ms. Lawder at South Slope.

U is for UNUSUAL SUNGLASSES

U ~ We celebrated the sun by wearing our shades-animated-animation-shades-smiley-emoticon-000387-largeSUNGLASSES,
some more UNUSUAL than others!

We also created “What do you see yourself doing during the summer?” sunglass art!

T is for TWO TRUTHS & A LIE


T ~ 
We grabbed iPads today and created some fun stories about ourselves including Two Truths and One Lie. We had lots of fun watching them afterwards and guessing which one was the Lie. Great job today Division 8!

S is for SUNDAES

S ~ It was time for the most infamous & popular days of the Alphabet Countdown …Ice Cream SUNDAES!!!
We created our very own ice cream SUNDAES with some neapolitan ice cream & the candy from our E is for Estimation day. I hope nobody got a stomach ache…

R is for REST, RELAX & READ

R ~ We spent some time this morning finding a comfortable spot in our classroom to REST & RELAX as we READ books with Kennedy!
She had so much fun and can’t wait until her next visit! Thanks for being so kind, gentle and welcoming division 8!!

Q is for QUILT

Q ~ We worked on memory squares, drawing a picture of our favourite memory of the school year. Miss Watt will put them together in a QUILT to hang up in her classroom.

P is for PJS & a Movie


P ~ We got to work in our PJs all day and then enjoy the movie Coco in the afternoon. After learning about the culture and traditions of our own families, those of our school mates and the First Nations people of British Columbia, I loved watching Miguel uncover the mysteries behind his own family’s stories and traditions.

O is for School in the OUTDOORS

O ~ We spent our day OUTSIDE at Lumberman’s Arch in beautiful Stanley Park.
We spent the morning down in the intertidal zone discovering there wildlife and creating a “crabitat” and then ate our lunch on the field before playing on the playground in the afternoon.

N is for NO SCHOOL WORK

N ~ A day with NO SCHOOL WORK! Happy Sports Day!
I had so much fun at the scorekeepers table with Ms. Gatenby and Mr. Ng and I hope you all had fun participating in all the stations and competing in the tug-of-wars too! Congratulations to Gold House on their big Sports Day win, breaking the over 30 year drought!
