La classe de Mme Turcios

Big ideas: All matter is made of particles: Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space.  Atoms are building blocks of matter.

During our unit on Matter we focused on the the states of Matter; liquid, solid, and gas.  We also learned more about conducting experiments using the Scientific method by coming up with predictions, evaluating results and making conclusions to our experiments.  Our biggest take away from this unit is that Matter is all around us and that it can be grouped or categorized by their properties; such as what it is made of, the colour, the texture etc.  One of the experiments that was a class favourite was making ice cream in a bag.  It was exciting to see the change from liquid to solid and also into something we could eat.  We also learned to work together when doing experiments in groups and to build on each others ideas and questions.
