Wow! I have been working with our Kingsway South Zone schools these past couple of months and the students are just blowing me away with their creativity.
At Glenwood Elementary, I had a chance to chat to students about the importance of a land acknowledgement. Using words and pictures, Christina Pook’s grade two class shared why the land is important to them personally, and something they can do to take care of the land.
At Nelson Elementary, Yuri Tsumori and Jennifer Heighton class learned about Coast Salish Art and the elements of designs. The students used these elements to create works of art on poppies to honor the Indigenous Veterans.
