Plasticine paintings are incredible and so fun to look at, not to mention inspiring.

Plasticine (also called modelling clay) works especially well for kids because it’s a forgiving medium. You don’t have to be great with fine motor skills or details.  It’s movable and moldable and kids are not intimidated by it!

Students were instructed to come up with a SPRING THEME.

How do you get these amazing results?

Our class made a box with a maze on top with holes and a marble. The object of the game is to try to tilt the playfield to guide the marble to the end of the maze without letting it fall into any of the holes.

Marble mazes are designed to test your child’s critical thinking, visual perception and spatial reasoning skills. Unlike a straightforward marble run, where the object of the exercise is to construct a structure for marbles to tumble down, a marble maze is far more mentally stimulating.

A marble maze is a logic game. A child has to think very carefully about what path their marble will take. If they choose the right path, the marble ends up in the right place and they win the game. But, one wrong move and it’s game over!

Marble mazes are great for children and adults alike!

A Time to Recognize Fathers

Father’s Day was Sunday, June 21, 2020

Father’s Day is a relatively modern holiday. Different families have a range of traditions. These can range from a simple phone call or greetings card to large parties honouring all of the ‘father’ figures in a particular extended family.

Father figures can include:

  • fathers
  • step-fathers
  • fathers-in-law
  • grandfathers and great-grandfathers, and
  • even other male relatives

Some students do not have a father at home.  Some mothers fill in as a father-figure. And some families have another male person who is a caregiver to you.

The people who make up our families love and care for us. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day,  Grandparents Day, and Family Day are special days in which we show our appreciation for the wonderful people in our families.

We got to visit real courtrooms!

On June 12th, the grade 7s visited the downtown Vancouver law courts to watch real trials in progress and observe the roles of justice system professionals: judges, lawyers, sheriffs, and court clerks. Participants may see witnesses and the accused in court.  There may also be the possibility to see a jury trial.  You got to meet a judge and a lawyer for 30 minutes each to ask about their role and experience in the justice system.

We Walk For Water 2019

We helped turn clean water on for people around the world.

Clean water is the fastest way to change a life. When communities gain access to clean water, young girls can go to school, and the health of the entire community improves. You can help create this ripple effect of change. Walk, fundraise, or donate and turn clean water on!

Awesome grade 7 students in Me to We walked for water with milk jugs or pails.  The event happened on a sunny, hot Thursday of May 23rd, 2019 during their lunchtime.  Each of them committed to collecting $25 in pledges.  Twenty-five dollars gives one person water for life.

BOOKLIST- alphabetical

Hi. Think about a favourite novel you have read. Here you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and insights about a favourite novel. What makes the book special to you? Maybe it is the themes, characters, plot, or your personal connection to the story. Think!  Analyze!  And express your passion for literature.

Firstly, briefly introduce the novel. That means give the title, author, publication date, genre, and a ranking out of 10.

Secondly, provide a concise summary of the plot (avoid spoilers).

Lastly, use 2 or more of these bullets:

  • What makes the character(s) memorable?
