After a morning filled with phonics, reading, and spelling, we had the opportunity to play with Cubie! We filled his brain with different codes to make him move across his mat. Then after lunch, we walked in the pouring rain to go visit our public library. We had a fun time checking out our own books, reading in a new space with our friends and classmates, and exploring the kids section in the library!

Today we learned about Stop Motion! We watched some Lego stop motion videos that led us to wonder how the lego moves by itself! Ms. Shen then showed us a Stop Motion app on the iPad and how to set our iPad up so that it doesn’t move, move an object just a little bit, and take a picture! We absolutely loved moving our class toys around, taking pictures, and having it make a cool video! Some of us even had a colouring sheet colour all by itself!

We loved it so much that Ms. Shen already booked the school iPads for next week so we can make more stories and videos!

Today we enjoyed costumes, getting and eating treats, and spending time with our big buddies!

Today we started creating our own stories with a beginning, middle, and end! We made sure we had a setting and characters too. We can’t wait to start writing stories!

Today we cut open a huge pumpkin and took out all the seeds! We worked together to count all the pumpkin seeds. We filled up our ten frames so that it was easier to count all the seeds by 10. We had over 240 pumpkin seeds in our 1 pumpkin! For lots of us, it was our first time touching the inside of a pumpkin! It was so slimy and gooey!

After a morning of learning reading skills and playing math games, we made spooky skeletons! We worked hard on our listening skills and following multi step instructions. We had to plan where to put our bones before we could glue them down! Check out our finished masterpieces in our classroom window!

Today we worked together with our buddy class to make the longest chain ever! It almost went across the entire tennis court! IMG_7712

Today we practiced an earthquake drill and we did a pumpkin investigation! We measured it, weighed it, and even tested if it sank or floated. Ms. Shen kind of made a little mess!

Next week we’ll cut it open and count all the seeds for math!
