Bonjour!
Thank you for your patience with this unusual September. I have connected with several families over the phone and will continue to try to connect with everyone this week. Please note that my phone will show up as “no caller ID” and I am calling families between 3:30pm and 5:30pm.
September learning:
Language Arts: reading together and looking at patterns in the stories. Reading and responding to stories. Listening to stories read by Ms. Hartman through TEAMS. Discussing topics such as Terry Fox Run, Orange Shirt Day, and feelings.
Math: We have been learning about patterns, increasing and decreasing. We have compared similar patterns and practiced prolonging patterns and determining the rule.
Art: we are learning about elements of drawing and practicing them. We have explored different materials such as pastels, and watercolours.
Next week: we will be starting place value for math, which includes counting with coins (so you can practice at home too).
FYIs:
Library day is Thursday.
We are looking into RazKids and Je lis to foster reading in French at home.
Please remember to send utensils and water bottles.
Please send runners for PE (Wednesdays and Thursdays)/indoor shoes
