Work for Wednesday June 3rd

  1. Watch the Morning Announcements on Teams
  2. Watch My Garden. As you are watching it, think about what your dream garden would look like. Use a writing page to draw and write about your dream garden.
  3. Reading: Grade 1: read a book on Raz Kids, Kindergarten: read on Raz Kids or listen to reading for 15-20 minutes (a family member or Tumblebooks)
  4. Math:
    1. Kindergarten: come up with as many ways as you can to make 10, use a number line, your fingers or counters to help you. You can use addition and subtraction. Think about some of the equations we used to do for the number of the day.
    2. Grade 1’s: come up with as many ways as you can to make 20. Use addition and subtraction (counters or a number line will help you), think about some of the crazy equations people used to come up with for the number of the day (e.g. 500 – 500 + 10 = 10), but do simple ones as well (e.g. 10 + 10 = 20).

Optional Activities:

  1. Play math card games
  2. Listen to a story on Tumblebooks and complete a beginning, middle and end page
  3. Create a story in story workshop
  4. Practice skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s
  5. Practice counting backwards, use your 100’s chart to help you
