Work for Monday April 20th

  1. Start work on your Counting Book (more information in Teams). Kindergarten students should do 2 pages today, Grade 1’s should do 4 pages.
  2. Zones of Regulation: show someone what zone you are in and why (you can point to the chart from last week), remember you may be in more than one zone. (e.g. I am in the blue zone because we can’t go outside and play, and I’m in the green zone because I like watching Ms. Peters Monday video). Extra: ask someone what zone they are in and why, you may need to help them figure out what zone they are in. See if you can explain what zones are to your sibling.
  3. Reading: Grade 1’s please make sure you read in your online program today, Kindergarten’s have someone read to you, or watch a book on Tumblebooks
  4. Listen to The Earth Book by Todd Parr, talk to someone about what you can do to help look after the Earth, is there something you could do today? Think about how you want to share your ideas with me, if you have time start the activity. (More details in Teams)

Optional activities:

Math Games: spend 15 minutes (or more) playing some of the math games I have sent, or some you may already play at home. Remember that any game that you have to roll a dice or spin a spinner and move your piece is a math game because you are counting.

Counting: practice counting, how high can you count? Can you skip count by 2’s? 5’s? 10’s? Have someone help you skip count to 100 (for Grade 1’s), to 20 by 2’s and 5’s (for Kindergarten) and to 100 by 10’s (for Kindergarten). Can you count backwards?

Exercise: watch a few Go Noodle videos, can you keep up with the children dancing or exercising?

Letter names and sounds: read the Alphabet Jive or Blends Jive with someone, watch a few Jack Hartmann videos about letter names and sounds
